Stream Restoration Consulting — Wetland Studies and Solutions
WSSI has restored more than 50 miles of stream channels in the Mid-Atlantic, returning stability to badly degraded riparian ecosystems that have been impacted by changes within the watershed. WSSI provides exceptional stream restoration design and implementation, drawing on our experience, technology, and training.
How can we restore marine ecosystems? Perspectives and tips
Marine ecosystem restoration – such as reconstructing saltmarshes that have been lost to human development, replanting coastal mangrove forests that have been degraded, and enhancing the structural complexity of damaged reefs – is an emerging field that seeks to move ecosystems to healthier states, often with the goal of increasing their ability to provide ecosystem services.
RESTORATION OF STREAM CORRIDOR
We have recommended stream corridor restoration efforts in nearly all subwatersheds in the Pigeon Creek watershed. This restoration is a complex endeavor that begins with the recognition that human-induced changes have damaged the structure and function of the ecosystem and prevent the recovery of the watershed to a sustainable condition.

Urban Watersheds Perspectives: Restoration vs. Rehabilitation
Mar 29, 2007 · Restoration vs. Rehabilitation Where we get into this most of the time is in the reclamation of a stream from a channelized ditch or other severely impacted form. In a sense, both have the same goal in mind, which is to enhance the habitat potential of an aquatic or riparian ecosystem.

River Restoration | Sweetwater Fisheries Group
River restoration and stream enhancement greatly improves fisheries habitats and promotes the long-term productivity of an aquatic ecosystem. At Sweetwater we recognize that there are many factors affecting the productivity and biotic integrity of each system, and take the proper approach to study each stream thoroughly.

River Ecology and Restoration
The terrestrial ecosystem depends mainly on the plant community and the aquatic ecosystem comprises aquatic plants, benthic invertebrates, and vertebrates. The main ecological functions of rivers are habitat, conduit, filter, barrier, source, and sink. Ecological stresses are defined as the disturbances that bring changes to river ecosystems.
